As if 2017 could have ended any other way. Peter Parker, the Amazing Spider-Man, took the top spot once more for good measure to close out the year. Spider-Man scored 13 points in the final week and snagged one more “Hero of the Week” title. He appeared in three titles and teamed up in all three of them, including the finale to Spider-Man II, which saw his protegé potentially part ways with his Spider-legacy. Deadpool came in second place with 12 points and made a final push to play second fiddle to his man crush in the annual rankings. Captain Marvel had three appearances and averaged three points per comic for a total of nine points and a third-place finish. Young Cyclops ranked the highest of all the X-characters at the start of the Phoenix Resurrection story kicked off. He scored eight points and took fourth place. Black Panther, Moon Girl and Miles all scored seven points and tied for fifth place. Ms. Marvel, who had a strong year which could easily land her a spot in the top 10 heroes overall, scored six points and placed in eighth place. Cable and Marvel Girl tied once again, this time with five points and a ninth-place finish. Six more X-characters scored points when they joined forces in the Phoenix book to split up and investigate the mysterious attacks around the globe. They found themselves fighting ghosts of formerly deceased mutants and will have to wait until the next month and several issues to get to the bottom of it all!

Hero and power usages are a combination of all Fantasy Comic League divisions: Knowhere, Midtown, Multiverse and Wakanda. League participants should cross reference the official points with their hero roster and drafted powers for their heroes’ scores.
