The X-Men have survived IvX and returned to their roots with new titles showcasing classic members and villains. But before their recent relaunch, the X-Men face a familiar threat in their three main titles. The “Apocalypse Wars” event shares little crossover between the three books and mainly serves as a way to capitalize on the X-Men: Apocalypse film. The main connection, outside of a common logo appearing on these books’ covers, is that all the teams face a variation of an Apocalypse threat. In Uncanny X-Men, Magneto’s black ops team of mutants seeks to cure Archangel of his destiny to become the heir of Apocalypse. Storm’s Extraordinary X-Men star in a time travel story that pits them against a future version of Apocalypse’s Horseman, which is being led by one of their own. The All-New X-Men, at least Beast and Evan, also traverse time and come face-to-face with an adolescent version of Apocalypse himself, which makes Evan, an Apocalypse clone, question his nature.
