Free Comic Book Day 2017 is twice as nice for Spider-Man since he is the only Fantasy Comic League hero to show up in two stories. Peter Parker scores the special “Hero of Free Comic Book Day” title with six points thanks to his back up story in the Secret Empire issue. A good number of the other Fantasy heroes are on hand for Steve Rogers’ ultimate betrayal when he proves that his still worthy, despite some questionable alliances. The other two FCBD stories focus on two of Marvel’s biggest bands of misfits, the Defenders and the Guardians of the Galaxy. Daredevil leads his street-based group of heroes to earn five points and second place, while Star-Lord leads his cosmic-based gang with four points and a third place finish. The rest of the heroes take it easy on Free Comic Book Day, but appearances are made by half of the Champions and a few Avengers.
Hero and power usages are a combination of all Fantasy Comic League divisions: Midtown, Multiverse and Wakanda. League participants should cross reference the official points with their hero roster and drafted powers for their heroes’ scores.
