Deadpool shoots Marvel fans, and a fan favorite character, in the heart as he closes out the Fantasy Comic League in May. In a Secret Empire tie-in which takes place before the main event, Wade displays his loyalty to Captain America by assassinating Steve Rogers super fan, Agent Phil Coulson. This cold-blooded act and the resulting 11 points earn Deadpool the “Hero of the Week” title. Wasp attempts to infiltrate Hydra Cap’s youth choir and sneakily earns second place with eight points. Miles leads the youth movement in their subterfuge, which ties him with Groot for third place at seven points. Fellow Guardian of the Galaxy, Gamora, is close behind her teammate thanks to her own solo comic. She and Doctor Strange tie for fifth place with six points. The third Secret Empire comic checks in on Captain Marvel’s attempt to fend off wave after wave of Chitauri invaders. She ties with Nova at five points. Moon Knight finally makes an appearance in the Fantasy Comic League, but due to the lack of any drafted powers, he only earns three points.
Hero and power usages are a combination of all Fantasy Comic League divisions: Midtown, Multiverse and Wakanda. League participants should cross reference the official points with their hero roster and drafted powers for their heroes’ scores.
