Wolverine had the habit of stealing vehicles which did not belong to him in the X-Men movies, but now he has his own set of wheels. Kia is keeping the memory of the recently-departed mutant alive thanks to their exclusive Sorento automobile, which is being used to help promote the X-Men: Days of Future Past Blu-ray. Wolverine also tries to steal Jean Grey from Cyclops, and there are casting rumors for those two in the Weekly Web-Up.
X-Men: Apocalypse. The First Class series of movies have so far focused on the same quartet of mutants – Professor Xavier, Magneto, Mystique and Beast – in their early years, but two of the most prominent X-Men have yet to reappear. Fox has dwindled the casting call down to just three actors per character, including Hit-Girl herself, Chloe Grace Moretz. Her competition for the role of Jean includes Elle Fanning and Hailee Steinfeld. Timothee Chalamet, Ben Hardy and Charlie Rowe are all being eyed for the one-eyed, red-eyed future leader of the X-Men, Cyclops. superherohype.com
Guardians of the Galaxy. The upcoming Blu-ray release of Guardians of the Galaxy features plenty of bonus features, including an alternate take on the film’s climatic ‘battle scene.’ Those that have not seen the movie risk spoilers, but for those that have, who comes off as the winner in this face-off. Thanos: The Infinity Relativity. Jim Starlin continues to pump out new content for the Mad Titan he created in 1973. Thanos: The Infinity Relativity is a follow-up graphic novel to Starlin’s previous entry, Thanos: The Infinity Revelation. The latest tale will feature Adam Warlock, the Guardians of the Galaxy, The Silver Surfer and Annihilus and other cosmic characters, while also incorporating events from the current Thanos vs. Hulk miniseries. comicbook.com
Howard the Duck. Marvel is taking one more step to revitalize the character of Howard the Duck by announcing a new comic series starring the foul-mouthed fowl. James Gunn recently thrust Howard back into cinematic relevancy thanks to the character’s cameo in the Guardians of the Galaxy movie, and now Chip Zdarsky and Joe Quinones will continue Howard’s adventures in the pages of his own comic beginning March 2015. newsarama.com
White Fox. Another character, one even more obscure than Howard the Duck, is joining the Avengers roster. Marvel is officially rolling White Fox, a hero created by Young hoon Ko for the Korean webcomic, Avengers Electric Rain, into their main continuity due to the character’s popularity. Jessica Jones. Now that the Daredevil series is deep into production, Netflix is turning their focus to the second installment of their Marvel original programming. A handful of actresses are reportedly testing for Jessica Jones, and even less actors are in the running for her heroic husband, Luke Cage. Some of the rumored names include Krysten Ritter (“Breaking Bad”), Alexandra Daddario (“True Detective”), Teresa Palmer (Warm Bodies) and Jessica De Gouw (“Arrow”). Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Executive producer Jeffrey Bell confirmed what many fans have long speculated. The blue-skinned alien – whose blood helped resurrect Agent Coulson – has been confirmed to be a member of the Kree alien race. The Kree connection also foreshadows the inevitable emergence of the Inhumans as well as their home, Atillan, potentially in the form of the mysterious city Coulson and his team are seeking. comicbook.com
