Fox delighted a large portion of the X-fan base by announcing that they are moving forward with the highly-coveted Deadpool movie. Fresh on the heels of the well-received animated test footage, and Ryan Reynolds speaking positively about the project, Fox set a release date of February 12, 2016, with Reynolds considered likely to play the role of Wade Wilson once more. In addition to announcing the new movie, Fox also pushed back their Fantastic Four film several weeks from June 19, 2015 to August 7. Marvel had reason to celebrate as well, as it was revealed they will be receiving the Vanguard Award at the Los Angeles LGBT Center in November. Avengers: Age of Ultron. Disney officially released the plot of their next feature film entry in the Cinematic Universe. Fans concerned about Tony Stark’s role in the origin of the film’s robotic bad guy may even have a glimmer of hope that Hank Pym is still involved.

Dr. Strange. The Sorcerer Supreme continues his march towards the big screen as Marvel Studios moves into final negotiations to film at Pinewood-Shepperton in the United Kingdom. Marvel Studios. TNT secured the television rights for Marvel Studios’ next five movies, beginning with Avengers: Age of Ultron. Captain Marvel. This December, Carol Danvers will have reached 100 issues of solo titles. Carol original starred in two separate Ms. Marvel series spanning 73 issues, and has appeared under the moniker Captain Marvel for 27 issues and counting. Guardians of the Galaxy. Marvel is riding the wave of fan-enthusiasm for the popular duo of Rocket Raccoon and Groot by giving them a series of variant covers this November. Marvel Contest of Champions. Another Marvel mobile game is set for release this fall and the Guardians of the Galaxy’s very own Gamora will be making her debut in a fighting genre game. Unfortunately not a console-based game, but still looks to be a decent brawler featuring the usual heroes such as Spider-Man, Captain America and Thor. Kabam, the studio behind the game, is even mining the Marvel roster for characters not often featured in fighters such as Rhino, Vision and the aforementioned Gamora. Agent Carter. The popular Avengers butler, Edwin Jarvis, will make his Cinematic Universe debut in the upcoming ABC series, Peggy Carter: Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.
