Fox delighted a large portion of the X-fan base by announcing that they are moving forward with the highly-coveted Deadpool movie. Fresh on the heels of the well-received animated test footage, and Ryan Reynolds speaking positively about the project, Fox set a release date of February 12, 2016, with Reynolds considered likely to play the role of Wade Wilson once more. In addition to announcing the new movie, Fox also pushed back their Fantastic Four film several weeks from June 19, 2015 to August 7. Marvel had reason to celebrate as well, as it was revealed they will be receiving the Vanguard Award at the Los Angeles LGBT Center in November. Also in the Web-Up, an official plot description for Avengers: Age of Ulton, a load of variant comic covers and some casting announcements for upcoming Marvel shows.

Fans concerned about Tony Stark’s role in the origin of the film’s robotic bad guy may even have a glimmer of hope that Hank Pym is still involved.

Marvel Studios presents “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” the epic follow-up to the biggest Super Hero movie of all time. When Tony Stark tries to jumpstart a dormant peacekeeping program, things go awry and Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, including Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, The Incredible Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye, are put to the ultimate test as the fate of the planet hangs in the balance. Joss Whedon’s Avengers sequel is set for a May 1, 2015 release and will star Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth and Mark Ruffalo, among other new and returning actors. comicbookresources.com

Dr. Strange. The Sorcerer Supreme continues his march towards the big screen as Marvel Studios moves into final negotiations to film at Pinewood-Shepperton in the United Kingdom. Pinewood-Shepperton was also the location for Marvel’s latest blockbuster, Guardians of the Galaxy. Production is expected to begin around May 2015. superherohype.com

Marvel Studios. TNT secured the television rights for Marvel Studios’ next five movies, beginning with Avengers: Age of Ultron. The third Captain America film was also announced as one of the five features, and Ant-Man would presumably be another, but there was no hint what the remaining two will be. comicbookresources.com

Carol original starred in two separate Ms. Marvel series spanning 73 issues, and has appeared under the moniker Captain Marvel for 27 issues and counting. Guardians of the Galaxy. Marvel is riding the wave of fan-enthusiasm for the popular duo of Rocket Raccoon and Groot by giving them a series of variant covers this November. The space-faring friends will feature as the alternate cover art for twenty popular comic series including All-New Captain America, Superior Iron Man and Uncanny X-Men, and will be drawn by artists such as Dustin Nguyen and Tom Fowler. comicbookresources.com

Marvel Contest of Champions. Another Marvel mobile game is set for release this fall and the Guardians of the Galaxy’s very own Gamora will be making her debut in a fighting genre game. Unfortunately not a console-based game, but still looks to be a decent brawler featuring the usual heroes such as Spider-Man, Captain America and Thor. Kabam, the studio behind the game, is even mining the Marvel roster for characters not often featured in fighters such as Rhino, Vision and the aforementioned Gamora. Marvel Heroes. Gazillion launched the new one-shot story for their popular MMORPG. Heroes must venture into the Bronx Zoo to stop Mr. Hyde, the Lizard and a menagerie of reptilian-spliced creatures. marvelheroes.com

Agent Carter. The popular Avengers butler, Edwin Jarvis, will make his Cinematic Universe debut in the upcoming ABC series, Peggy Carter: Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. British actor James D’Arcy will portray the human embodiment of the character who served as the inspiration for Tony Stark’s artificial intelligence assistant in the Iron Man films. comicbookresources.com

Daredevil. Another popular mentor figure will feature in the upcoming Daredevil series on Netflix. Scott Glenn will appear as Stick, a mysterious martial artist who trains Matt Murdock, played by Charlie Cox. marvel.com
